On Thursday the 19th of Sept 2019 DFC UNDOF Brig Gen Maureen O Brien presented both UNDOF Medals and Peacekeepers Medals to 59th Irish Contingent FRC UNDOF. 

During the Medal Parade Brig Gen O Brien praised the 59th Irish Contingent on the high operational tempo FRC had completed during its 6 month tour of duty in UNDOF. She also commented on the high standards of the Unit and  the long traditions Ireland has and especially the Irish Defence Forces have played in the United Nations and especially as peacekeepers. Brig Gen O Brien finished her speech by thanking Lt Col Louis Flynn O/C 59th Irish Contingent FRC UNDOF and wished all members of the unit a safe trip home to their families.
