July 27, 2012 – The Head of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations in UN-Headquarters New York, Mr. Hervé Ladsous, visited Camp Faouar on Friday morning.

Following a Guard of Honor on his arrival, the Force Commander UNDOF, MGen Natalio C. Ecarma III, provided him with a detailed mission briefing that encompassed the current situation in UNDOF's Area of Responsibility.

The short visit program provided Mr. Ladsous with an overview of the Area of Separation and included briefings in Qunaitra at Position 27 (2nd Coy AUSBATT) and the B-Gate. Following this, a tour of PHILBATT Outpost 60A and UNTSO OP72 was conducted.

The visit was completed in the afternoon with his return to Damascus, armed with an up to date impression of the UNDOF mission.
