On Monday 10th of February 2020, a four member delegation team headed by Uruguayan Army Chief General Feola Paz and Uruguayan Deputy Defence Minister Mr. A Berterreche Alverez arrived to Camp Faouar. The purpose of the visit was to inspect and meet the newly deployed Uruguayan Mechanised Infantry Company (UMIC) who deployed to UNDOF in September 2019. During the 4 day visit the delegation were given a comprehensive tour of the UNDOF AOR had Office calls with the A/FC and also Senior Syrian Representatives. The culminatiuon of the visit was the presenting of Medals to members of the Uruygian Contingent. Both General Feola Paz and Deputy Minister Mr A. Berterreche Alverez presented UNDOF Peace Keeping Medals to UMIC Peace Keepers.

On Monday of the visit the delegation attended Office Call with Acting Force Commander Brig Gen Maureen O'Brien followed by UNDOF Operational and Situational brief by Chief Operation Officer Lt Col Oliver Clear. On Tuesday 11th Feb 2020, the delegation visited UNP 60, UNP 80 and UNP 85 where Uruguayan troops are deployed along with the quick visit to Bravo Gate. The following day the delegation visited SSAD and Syrian Authorities and were given a cultural tour of the Old City OF Damascus, Old City Mosque, Saladino's Tomb, Old City Market, Craftsmen Market in Damascus. The next day on 13th Feb 2020 delegation team attended The First Medal Parade Ceremony of Uruguay Mechanized Infantry Company (UMIC) where Acting Force Commander Brig Gen Maureen O'Brien, General Feola Paz from Uruguay, Uruguayan Deputy Defence Minister Mr. A Berterreche Alverez, UNDOF Chief of Staff Col Martin Alvarez and Chief Operation Officer Lt Col Oliver Clear awarded the Medal for Peace Service to UMIC troops.  The visit concluded on Friday the 14th of Febuarary both General Feola Paz and the Deputy Defense Minister Mr. Mr. A Berterreche Alverez remarked favorably about the warm reception and fully tansparent vist they had to UNDOF. They also stated that the Uruguyan Army is fullly comittted to suporting the mission in any way possible. The delegation left UNDOF with a very positive experience and were impressed with the operational outputs and team spirit within the mission.
