To mark the occassion of "International Day of UN Peacekeepers 2023" in Camp Ziouni & Camp Faouar on 29 May 2023, FC Major General Nirmal Kumar Thapa & DFC Brig Gen Amitabh Jha laid a wreath in honor of fallen peacekeepers respectively. FC in his speech highlighted the sacrifice of UN peacekeepers for the sake of peace and thanked every UNDOF peacekeepers for their effort in shining the hope of peace in Golan region. He also conveyed sincere gratitude to family members of peacekeepers for the sacrifice they make while serving under UN flag. The event was followed by the presentation of Certificate of Recognition to Major Issac Nana ACHEAMPONG from Ghana by DFC for his efforts in the field of gender advocacy within the mission area. Similarly, DFC & CORM presented UNDOF medal to Staff Officers in Camp Ziouni. DFC in his speech highlighted on the theme "Peace Begins with Me" saying that UNDOF mandate has been enabling platform to think more, to do more and to deliver more & therefore to integrate more of all UNDOF components together and thereby optimize efforts towards fulfilling the mission mandate.
