On Friday, 06 November 2020, the Official HOTO Ceremony took place between the outgoing CO Lt Col Madan Neupane, NEPCON VIII and incoming CO Lt Col Pankaj Raj Pokharel, NEPCON IX at Position 12A. The Ceremony was officiated by UNDOF's Deputy Force Commander Brig Gen Maureen O’Brien.

The outgoing and incoming commanders signed the HOTO (Handover, Takeover) documents and ceremonially exchanged the UN flag. The outgoing CO Lt Col Madan Neupane delivered his farewell speech as he bidded farewell to the mission leadership team, his colleagues and fellow contingent members. The incoming CO Lt Col Pankaj Raj Pokharel delivered his introductory speech, stressing his contingent's commitment to contributing towards the fulfilment  of UNDOF's madate.

Deputy Force Commander O'Brien extended her farewell to all members of NEPCON VIII, and thanked the outgoing CO and NEPCON VIII for their consistent and dedicated service, as well as expressing her welcome and best wishes for the incoming NEPCON IX.
