The UNDOF Head of Mission and Force Commander (HoM/FC) Major General Ishwar Hamal visited the Uruguayan Mechanized Infantry Company (UMIC) on 05 August 2020. He was greeted by a Company sized parade in the Main Drill Square.  He was briefed by UMIC Commander Lt Col Ramon Ramirez and UMIC Staff Officers, followed by an inspection of UMIC HQ Area.

The HoM/FC then was escorted by APCs to Position 85 (UMIC Outpost) where the UMIC troops are located. HoM/FC received a Guard of Honor in UNP 85 and was then invited to observe the southern areas of the UNDOF AOR from the main tower.

The HoM/FC spoke with UMIC Commander and personnel in all positions. He highlighted their professionalism, and praised them for their dedication and hard work, wishing them well in the final weeks of their deployment.
