March 13, 2013 – The Commander of the Austrian Joint Forces Command, LtGen Franz Reissner, visited UNDOF for a two-day inspection mission.

The visit program provided the General, who was accompanied by a four-member delegation, with an office call with Force Commander UNDOF, MGen I. S. Singha late evening in Camp Ziouani. The discussions included the Austrian contribution in the Golan Heights that will still continue, but the main topic was the security situation for Austrian soldiers fulfilling their peacekeeping duties. MGen Singha thanked LtGen Reissner for the efforts, professional and engagement of the Austrian peacekeepers but especially the leadership quality of LtCol Paul Schneider, NCC AUTCON and CO AUSBATT.

On second day the guests visited Position 22, 2nd Coy AUSBATT. They met after breakfast Col Patrick Gauchat and LtCol Robert Duggan, UNTSO DCOS and Chief OGG, for an operational briefing. After they were personally introduced by NCC, the Austrian soldiers had the opportunity to mingle and talk to LtGen Reissner. The visit ended with a group photo after mementos were presented by the Joint Forces Commander to deserved AUTCON peacekeepers.

March 12, 2013 – The Irish Defense Minister Mr. Alan Shatter visited UNDOF starting with an introduction briefing given by UNMO Capt Jost Grob at UNTSO OP 51. The distinguished guest was accompanied by the Chief of Staff of Ireland Defense Forces, LtGen Sean McCann and the Irish Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Breifne O'Reilly. Afterwards a Guard of Honor, presented by the Indian Battalion, welcomed Mr. Shatter in Camp Ziouani which was followed by an office call with Force Commander UNDOF, MGen I. S. Singha.

The visit concluded with lunch in the International Kitchen and finally with a group photo of all delegation members and Irish officers, in front of Khetarpal Hall. The visit as a whole was well organized and prepared by LtCol Robert Duggan, Chief Observer Group Golan.

March 8, 2013 – The visit of BGen Mate Paden from Croatia, marks the first of the three official visits UNDOF has witnessed within the span of a week. BGen Paden arrived on Friday morning in Camp Ziouani accompanied by BGen Ivan Jurić and two further delegation members from the Croatian Armed Forces. The Croatian Ambassador to the State of Israel Mr. Pjer Simunovic joined this visit too.

The visit schedule basically provided the guests with a detailed situation update from the Croatian Contingent (HRVCON) delivered by NCC HRVCON, Maj Mile Vukicevic. The delegation was warmly welcomed and hosted by Force Commander UNDOF, MGen I.S. Singha. Croatian UN peacekeepers are mainly serving within the Austrian Battalion in the area of 3rd Company since 2008. The visit ended with lunch at early afternoon.
