Brigadier General Amitabh Jha, joined the UNDOF Mission on 14th April 23. He is an Infantry Officer & prior to his deployment to UNDOF he has commanded a Brigade in Glaciated Mountainous terrain of India, and a Specialised unit as Commanding Officer.

The General officer has had numerous staff and instructional appointments at all levels in Indian Army. He has previously served as a Military Observer in the UN mission in Democratic Republic of Congo.

Brigadier General Amitabh Jha has a keen interest in reading on Military Diplomacy, Geopolitics, Indo- Pacific, Modern & Small Wars, Sub-conventional Warfare & tribes & culture. He is a keen sports enthusiast, who plays troop games and enjoys backpacking in the mountains. The General is happily married to Mrs Anupama Jha, an educationalist. The couple are blessed with a son and daughter.
