Force Commander's Visit to INDCON, Camp Faouar - 02 December 2020

Lt Gen Ishwar Hamal, UNDOF Force Commander and Head of Mission, visited the INDCON LOGCOY (Indian Contingent, Logistics Company) for the first time after the induction of the contingent to the mission on the 02 December 2020. The Force Commander was received by Maj Sakthikomahan, Officer Commanding INDCON LOGCOY on his arrival, and a general salute was presented. Thereafter, the Force Commander was briefed by the Commanding Officer on the various operational and logistic aspects of the LOGCOY. 

The Indian Contingent's Logistics Company is extremely important in the daily operation of UNDOF. It provides real-time security, logistics and material support to all of UNDOF's personnel, and prides itself on maintaining a safe, serviceable and reactionary peacekeeping mission to the highest standards.

The officers, JCOs and OR of the INDCON LOGCOY were addressed by the Force Commander, wherein the Force Commander expressed his pleasure on visiting INDCON and applauded the contingent for rendering their duties in utmost competent means since the induction of the contingent. Acknowledging that Covid-19 has presented difficulties for all contingents in learning their trade in the mission area, the Force Commander commented on the confidence that he has in his Indian colleagues to support the mission in achieving its mandate.

The Force Commander was then given a tour of the various platoons of the LOGCOY and was briefed by the OC during the tour. The visit concluded with a working lunch organised at the INDCON international Kitchen.
