The Secretary-General welcomes the announcement by the Governments of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Russian Federation and the United States of America of a de-escalation zone and arrangements to support a ceasefire and delivery of humanitarian assistance in southwest Syria.

Members of Fiji Batt proudly received their UNDOF service medal from the Force Commander and Head of Mission Maj Gen Jai Shanker Menon during a Military Ceremony in Camp Fauoar on 30th May 2017.

On the 7th June 2017, a memorial service was held in Camp Ziounai to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Commandant Thomas ‘Tommy’ Wickham Defence Force Ireland, who died in the line of duty in 1967.
