NEPCON V and Nepalese Field Engineer Platoon- I jointly conducted their medal parade on 28th July 2017 in Camp Faouar, having Force Commander and Head of Mission Major General Jai Shanker Menon as a chief guest of ceremony.

Visit of Irish DCOS(sp) Maj Gen Kevin Cotter to UNDOF

Major General Kevin Cotter was greeted by Comdt Donal Burke and received an Honour Guard from Sgt Valerie Cole and members of The Force Reserve Company (FRC). Major General Cotter then met with the Deputy Force Commander who welcomed him to Camp Ziouani.

Statement attributable to the Spokesman for the Secretary-General on Syria

The Secretary-General welcomes the announcement by the Governments of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Russian Federation and the United States of America of a de-escalation zone and arrangements to support a ceasefire and delivery of humanitarian assistance in southwest Syria.

Members of Fiji Batt proudly received their UNDOF service medal from the Force Commander and Head of Mission Maj Gen Jai Shanker Menon during a Military Ceremony in Camp Fauoar on 30th May 2017.

Visit to UNDOF by Lt Gen Stephen Bowes Commander Canadian Joint Operations Command

On 31 May 2017, UNDOF hosted a visit of Lt Gen Stephen Bowes Commander Canadian Joint Operations Command. Lt Gen Bowes received a Guard of Honour from the FijiBatt contingent and an equipment demonstartion by the Force Reserve Company. Please see our photo gallery for additional images.

Defence Forces Ireland commemorate 50th Anniversary of Comdt Thomas Wickham RIP

On the 7th June 2017, a memorial service was held in Camp Ziounai to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Commandant Thomas ‘Tommy’ Wickham Defence Force Ireland, who died in the line of duty in 1967.

Fiji Batt Medal Parade on the Alpha Side – 24th April 2017

Fijibatt conducted its medal parade on the Alpha side in Camp Ziouani on the 24 April 2017. The parade was handed over by the Parade Commander Major Waisale Cama to the FC/HoM Maj Gen Jai Shanker Menon who also presented medals to troops on Parade.
