On Saturday the 4th April 2020 Irish Contingent FRC UNDOF rotated through Dasmascus International Airport in Syria. The significance about this rotation was the last time a major Troop rotation occured through Damascus International Airport happened in 2011. The rotation of the FRC was months in planning with all parties concerned. On the day the rotation happened seemlessly with no delays. It is envisaged that in the future all large Troop rotations will happen in Damascus International Airport. On behalf of the mission we would like to wish FRC 60 Inf Gp Irish Contingent as safe return home to Ireland and all the best for the future. UNDOF would also like to welcome FRC 61 Inf Gp Irish Contingent to UNDOF and wish them every success during their 6 month deployment.
