HoM/FC Major General Ishwar Hamal Visited FRC and INDCON
On Wednesday, 29 July 2020, the Head of Mission & Force Commander (HoM/FC) Major General Ishwar Hamal visited the Force Reserve Company (FRC) from Ireland and Indian Contingent (INDCON) in the Camp Faouar, UNDOF. The first visit of HoM/FC Maj Gen Hamal was very well received by both contingents.
During the visit to the FRC, its Commander Lt Col Robert Kiely briefed HoM/FC on its capabilities, tasks, deliberate operations, operational challenges and disposition. The visit was followed by a demonstration of the FRC’s capabilities and its various equipment. HoM/FC Maj Gen Hamal inspected the FRC’s assets and praised them for their contribution and hard work in pursuing the mission’s mandate.
On the same day, HoM/FC visited the Indian Contingent (INDCON). He was welcomed and briefed by INDCON Commander Lt Col Suhel Nagarkar about INDCON tasks, responsibilities, capabilities, and disposition. INDCON commander also briefed HoM/FC on the measures being taken by the contingent in the screening of personnel for COVID-19 in both Camps. The HoM/FC also visited the INDCON duty stations including ICTS Platoon and Force MP Platoon, where he was briefed by respective INDCON Platoon Commanders. The HoM/FC commended the efforts of INDCON in supporting UNDOF to fulfill its mandate.
